Torr Vale Mill

This Grade II* Listed Torr Vale Mill was the UK’s longest running textile mill – in continuous use for 210 years and only closing in 2000.  Situated on the banks of the River Goyt, Torr Vale Mill is an imposing building with a fascinating history.

This incredible building has been lovingly restored back to life retaining the industrial architecture of the 1800s, including barrel vaulted ceilings, exposed stone walls and cast iron columns and beams. The place can be hired for weddings, events and conferences, and regularly hosts ‘Makers at the Mill’ fairs.

There are also EV charging points and a bike rack in the car park.

Workers’ cottages around the site have been converted into stylish accommodation that can be booked as holiday letts. These include:

It is also home to the Torr Vale Tap bar and the The Cheese Wheel at Torr Vale
