Lean to House – Torr Vale Mill

This historic cottage provides a relaxing environment on the banks of the River Goyt and the dramatic scenery of The Torrs.

The Lean To House was originally the old store room, which was demolished in the 2000s, and rebuilt in 2021.

First floor cottage, with two bedrooms; sleeps up to four people

Lean to House has a lovely full-length corridor of windows which face the main mill and look over the courtyard. The bedrooms at the back look onto a lovingly landscaped area, from which you can listen to the sounds of the river and nature at its best. This is somewhere you can restore your energy and create fond memories for the future.

Outside a short walk past the mighty chimney stack and you’ll reach the award-winning Millennium Walkway. This 160m long cantilevered walkway provides a route through the previously impassable gritstone gorge at Torrs, New Mills which is an area of exceptional natural beauty and unique industrial archaeological heritage available below.

Note: This cottage can be booked in conjunction with Manager’s Suite, The Fireman’s House and The Old Workshop to sleep a total of 17 people.
