On the 1st Saturday in December New Mills comes alive with Christmas spirit as visitors from across the High Peak and beyond head for one of the most vibrant Christmas festivals in the North West.

With the roads in the town centre closing, New Mills is transformed into a seasonal family festival with the traditional switching on of the Christmas lights on the Prom, choirs, market stalls, family fun fair, food and drink, live music, dancing and above all thousands of people enjoying a great evenings free entertainment among family and friends and a vast array of street entertainers
Visitors are recommended to arrive early and preferably by public transport – its an ideal Christmas shopping opportunity as the town centre shops and galleries stay open late and the streets are filled with dozens of festive artisans and traders.
