Newtown, Moorwood Farm and Hague Bar – Friends of New Mills Stations Walk 2

Distance 3.25 miles – Time – approx. 1.5-2 hours

The walk is easy to moderate, mainly on generally good paths but can be muddy after wet weather so good footwear is advisable. There is a section of road at the start of the walk, but things improve after crossing the A6.

The walk starts with The Millennium Walkway which seamlessly intertwines industrial heritage with natural beauty. Following the tranquil path along the River Goyt, walkers are treated to picturesque views of old mill buildings and charming stone bridges amid lush greenery.

Leading uphill to scenic paths of Cheshire, part of Route 38,  with breath-taking views that extend across the vibrant expanse of Manchester. Ending in Mousley Bottom Nature reserve which offers a serene escape into nature. The tranquil surroundings, lush greenery, and vibrant wildlife make it perfect for a peaceful walk. Once you’ve completed the walk have a well deserved refreshments at one of the local eateries.
