Carr Meadow Nature Reserve

Carr meadow – This is a beautiful meadow if you visit in the spring/summer when the flowers are in bloom, then you can enjoy the meadows colours and smells.

The field is a remnant of a much larger field in the old Parish of Ollersett, by 1868 the new railway divided the field from neighbouring farm land.

Red and white clover, Knapweed and Creeping buttercups are the dominate flowers amongst the grass. These flowers support insects’ life and birds and mammals which feed on the insects.
