Kinder Ringers

Kinder Ringers Handbell Team first performed in public in New Mills Town Hall in December 1981.  We began ringing on a set of fifteen borrowed bells, but after much fundraising we were able to purchase a 3-octave set of traditional English bells cast at Whitechapel in 1988.   We use the in-hand style of ringing, usually with some members ringing 4-in-hand.  The original team of 5 all lived in New Mills but the present 9 members travel from further afield to rehearse for 2 hours every week in Hayfield.

We give concerts and demonstrations throughout the year for a great variety of clubs and organisations, both locally and nationally.  We also ring in church services and at weddings.

Venues have ranged geographically from Dunblane in Scotland to Exeter in Devon and have included cathedrals, universities, concert halls and stately homes, as well as residential homes, church halls, schools, a makeshift stage on a container wagon, and a donkey stable!

We are all members of Handbell Ringers of Great Britain and have had the honour of being chosen to represent the North West Region in five National Concerts for this organisation.

Four of our ringers also entertain as a quartet in venues too small for our usual table layout.
