New Mills is renowned for its community spirit and welcoming atmosphere. The town puts on a range of events throughout the year including the monthly QuizIt which is hosted in a different pub each month and raises tens of thousands of pounds for local good causes. The community cinema provides free entertainment for families six times a year at St George’s Parish Hall.
There is also a whole host of events linked to festivals. The Christmas Lights Switch, the Duck Race and the Carnival bring out the crowds for a good time and the One World Festival is the High Peak’s free community festival about peace, diversity, world development and the environment.
