Escape the hustle and bustle with a scenic walk through the Peak District!
This “Mousley Bottom, the Fox, Apple Tree Road” walk offers a lovely mix of riverside paths, woodland trails, and open fields, perfect for a relaxed afternoon.
Starting near New Mills station, the walk takes you alongside the River Goyt, past the historical Mousley Bottom nature reserve. You’ll then climb gently uphill, enjoying refreshing countryside views before reaching a charming pub (The Fox Inn) – a perfect spot for a pit stop! The route continues through farmland and along quiet country lanes, eventually looping back to New Mills town centre. Keep an eye out for the old police station, a reminder of the Kinder Scout mass trespass – a pivotal moment in British access rights history.
