Oh Yes It Does! Pantomime is definitely the best cure for Winter blues and the cast of Sleeping Beauty is ready to banish those blues when they launch a cracking opening night on 3rd February at New Mills Art Theatre.
Sleeping Beauty is a classic fairy tale given the panto makeover. The King and Queen have a lovely daughter in Princess Rose, that’s wonderful! Unfortunately, the trouble seems to start with the Christening – somebody very wicked doesn’t get an invite …….. whoops! Good and evil magic do battle in the form of good fairies and a bad witch, but don’t worry there’s lots of dancing, singing, a UV scene plus slapstick comedy from a muddled Muddles, and two hopeless palace messengers – you just can’t get the staff! Leading the laughter mongers is Nurse Dottie Dettol, who may have her own ‘alternative’ remedies, but she will be sure to wallop the medicine of laughter right over the footlights in true panto Dame style for everyone to enjoy.
