Sett Valley Mountain Bike Collective

Hello, my name is Neil, I run a small wheel building and off-road bicycle guiding business out of Newtown. Originally from Stockport I met my wife through cycling and moved out here some six years ago. We have been riding the Peak District National Park and surrounding areas for over twenty-five years and between us we have over fifty years’ experience.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic I was an active volunteer for British cycling’s HSBC Lets Ride programme. One thing I have noticed since moving out here, is although there are plenty of community groups facilitating various things, there are none to my knowledge for cycling.

I am a great believer that cycling is not only great for physical but mental health, and is a great way of meeting likeminded people, not to forget the environmental benefits too.

We really enjoy the places cycling takes us and would like to provide a platform for the local communities to be able to access the same.
The Peak District is one of the many stunning parts of our country and is known for its vast network of cycle lanes, canal paths and Bridleways. From first time cyclist to experienced riders that are looking to explore new places, our passion is to provide a free platform for people to meet and explore the local areas with a knowledgeable guide, so have set up Sett Valley Mountain Bike Collective, more information on our Facebook page, see link below.

Thanks for your time, I hope to see some of you soon. Neil.
