Based in New Mills and Hayfield. Sett Valley Explorers Scout Group have returned from a fantastic adventure in the Swiss Alps supported by local people. They headed up to the stunning Oeschinensee Lake and took on an iconic Lötschenpass Hike, heading through the meadows and forests of the Gasterntal before making the steep climb to Gfellalp (1,847 m) — one of Kandersteg International Scout Centre’s own mountain huts.
After a night surrounded by incredible mountain views, day two brought them onto the Lötschen Glacier for an introduction to glacier walking, before crossing the historic Lötschenpass.
From the pass, they descended through the lush pastures of the Lötschental to Ferden, completing an epic two-day journey through some of Switzerland’s most spectacular alpine landscapes.
Sett Valley Explorers would like to thank all the organisations and businesses who supported their Kandersteg adventure. Without your generosity, this trip simply wouldn’t have been possible.
They’re now bringing the adventure to the big screen at New Mills Arts Theatre on Friday 16 October 7:00–8:00pm Doors open 6:40pm
