Northern Introducing New Temporary Timetable from 2nd August

Customers travelling in the North West are advised to check before they travel due to the introduction of new temporary timetables from Monday 2 August. The timetables will see a reduction in services on some routes, though every effort has been made to protect key services at peak times. The temporary timetables have been introduced due to the reduction in available train crew because of the virus and colleagues self-isolating.  The routes affected by the new timetables are:

  • Barrow – Carlisle
  • Barrow – Manchester Airport
  • Blackpool North – Liverpool Lime Street
  • Liverpool Lime Street – Manchester Airport
  • Manchester Piccadilly – Buxton
  • Manchester Piccadilly – Hadfield
  • Manchester Piccadilly – New Mills Central
  • Manchester Piccadilly – Stoke
  • Manchester Victoria – Chester
  • Manchester Victoria – Preston
  • Morecambe – Lancaster

Customers planning to travel on any of these routes are advised to check carefully before travelling. Up-to-the-minute details of Northern’s services can be found via the journey planner at northernrailway.co.uk/journey-planner or at National Rail Enquiries.
