New Mills Art Theatre Panto get together

Pirates … Aargh! – Sea Spirits, a Desert Island and a talking Parrot mixed with a little Hocus Pocus are all to be found in the swashbuckling pantomime Robinson Crusoe and the Pirates – the 2019 panto at New Mills Art Theatre.

Find out more about Auditions for this year’s panto at their Get-Together on Monday, 3 September at 7.30pm at New Mills Art Theatre, Jodrell Street, SK22 3HJ.  Everyone is welcome to come along, meet the production team and register for audition.  Director, Rob Brittles, Choreographer, Cathryn Yates and Musical Director, Tim Walker will talk about the panto, the characters, music, story and will answer any of your questions.  Audition dates will be held later in September and will be announced at the Get-Together.  Robinson Crusoe and The Pirates will run over 2 weekends with performances on 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 8th, 9th February 2019.

So, heave ho me hearties – this could be your chance to perform on the Art Theatre stage and if you fancy auditioning – these ‘ere parts just might tempt ye:  Saucy Panto Dame Margarita Juicilita or her daft son Nutty Nick; ruthless buccaneer Cut-Throat; nit-wit pirates Skull-Duggery and Cross-Bones; Poll the Parrot; Davy Jones the underwater immortal baddie and of course the adventurous Robinson Crusoe – and many more!  If you don’t fancy auditioning for a part – shiver me timbers and listen up all pirates! – you can have so much fun in the ensemble and we are looking for a strong company of chorus and dancers to include adults and children.

After the success of their last panto Aladdin, two cast members; Sam Bolton and Conor Wise received Association of Community Theatre (ACT) awards for their outstanding performances.  And the wonderful Choreographer, Cathryn Yates won the ACT award for Excellence in Dance yet again! – this is the second consecutive year that Cathryn has received this prestigious award for her great choreography.

If you would like more information or you are unable to attend the Get-Together, a friend or family member can register for you, please contact the Theatre on Telephone: 07983 344 862 or Email:   Due to a very tight schedule in September late applications for registration will not be accepted.

If performing is not for you, but you would like to help out, please still come along to the Get-Together or contact them as above.  You could join the Stage Crew, Technical or Front of House teams who are all volunteers, committed to providing high quality live entertainment for the community for over 50 years.
