A Tavola Sicilian Street Food Trattoria will be opening its doors to foodies with a fondness for the authentic, in mid May.
They built up a very loyal following of customers when they were in Reddish, Stockport. But for reasons we don’t know, the landlord issued an eviction notice so the search was on for new premises. Lots of options were looked at but, luckily for New Mills, the owners, Alessio Muccio and his partner Nicky, found the perfect spot – the former Beehive Inn, on Albion Rd.
Initially, it’s anticipated that there will be room for 30 covers inside and another 30 outside, and there are plans to expand into the upstairs of the pub and double their inside capacity in time for winter. Despite the much increased capacity (in Reddish they only had space for 20 covers), Alessio and Nicky are promising to recreate the intimate, neighbourhood feel that has made A Tavola such a success.
They said “We’re looking forward to being able to expand our business, but the main restaurant will still feel very cosy. But we can explore events, charity nights, cookery classes, wine tastings, functions – we’ve always been a hub of the community and we notice a very similar close-knit community here in New Mills.
We would like to extend a very warm welcome to A Tavola and we wish them every success in their new home!
