Derbyshire County Council Officers have managed to reschedule the resurfacing work which was planned to take place on St Mary’s Road during the week before Bonfire Night.
Preparations for the event could have created problems for the road workers, as well as for the Bonfire builders and Park Staff
The works are now delayed until the following week – the planned starting date is now November the 9th.
Part of the preparation work for the resurfacing work has been to reline the culvert near the church. Tree roots have continually caused problems by breaching the culvert, leading to water leaking down the road surface which turns to ice in winter, it is hoped that this problem is now solved.
