Showcasing local artists – part 1

Whilst The Gallery on High St remains closed during this latest lockdown, we’re going to feature the wide range of local, talented and inspirational artists whose work is generally on sale there. And most of them can still fulfill orders so do contact them if you see anything you like!

Anne Humberstone Textile Artist and Printmaker, using textiles and stitch instead of canvas and paint. Most of her work is inspired by the countryside.

Christine Emck Sculptor Representative Sculpture in various media for garden or home, taking inspiration from the world around: animal, vegetable or mineral.

Clare Allan. UK artist producing fine art landscapes, street scenes and life drawings. Playing with perspective to describe how it feels to be in a certain place.

James Horton’s Art? Describes his work as a log/journey into his battles with drawing and stuff.

Janet Birchenall lives and works in New Mills. She is a crochet crafter selling her work in her Etsy shop and at The Gallery.

Jenny Rothwell Jewellery Design is a jewellery designer living in New Mills.

Jo Basnett is a ceramic artist who creates a range of stoneware and porcelain.

More artists will be featured over the coming days.
