Over the last year New Mills has seen an unparalleled increase in the use of footpaths and bridleways in the area, the most popular being the route to the top of Lantern Pike.
In response to this, after weeks of discussion and debate with HPBC, the planning application has been approved for a restaurant/cafe just below the summit. (See artists impression)
The restaurant, to be called ‘Heather Slopes’ will give panoramic views of the area and serve a wide variety of snacks, full meals and beverages.
Dishes are still being discussed but we’ve heard rumours that the classic Italian dish Pollo Fari and the Middle Eastern Pilor Loaf might be on the menu.
