New Mills has a wide variety of visitor attractions – from its beautiful architecture through to modern day attractions such as the Millennium Walkway and Torrs Hydro.

Formal parks and play areas, including adult exercise equipment, wild meadow and hillside areas for children – of all ages – River side and canal walks and The Sett Valley Trail. It is a Walkers Are Welcome Town!

We have a Football Club, Cricket Clubs, Tennis and several Bowling Greens.
The Heritage Centre has memorabilia and artifacts, gifts and a range of books and pamphlets written by local history experts and enthusiasts.

The Art Theatre – run by local people has links with dance classes and its programs have entertained residents for many years, it is known for nurturing talented youngsters..
The New Mills Town Band and Thornsett Brass Bands, and White Van Man and other Bands, Groups and Singers add to our entertainments. Venues across the town include the Town Hall, Churches, Spring Bank Arts, The Art Theatre, pubs etc.,

Traditional shops and market stalls for you to browse in, a choice of cafes, pubs and eating places – camping, B & Bs and nearby hotels.

Across the year there are various community activities, a Carnival and two wide ranging Festival programs. Folk Trains from Manchester, Buxton or Sheffield – Something for Everybody!
